In the article, it said that “there’s no shortage of ways to perform calculations without a standard electronic computer. But the latest in a long line of weird computers runs calculations on nothing more than air.” This new microprocessor is running mainly on valve computer and every pneumatic valve is functioned by varying the air pressure in a small chamber under the air channel, divided from the circuit by a flexible resistant covering. When the lower chamber is filled with air, the coverings push upwards and close the valve, stopping the binary signal flowing across one of the processor’s junctions. It was also said that this microprocessor that mainly runs on air has the potential to improve lab-on-a-chip devices that would definitely improve disease testing, DNA outlining, and any other things that is connected to lab work.
